This is my latest term for a few of the adventures that we have been
on with the Prep Teamers the past couple of months. Unfailingly, they
seem to involve less-traveled trails, difficult conditions, cold wet
weather, and copious amounts of mud...
Yesterday the
Prep Team schedule called for 'Swamp Intervals', which is a concept
loosely borrowed from the Scandos where they do Myrintervall as a
favorite training method. We don't quite have the same type of spongy
bog here that they do over there, but we can still have some super-tough
sessions (and lots of fun) in our version.
I broke out the waterproof camera for some shots of our version yesterday. A bit tough to run
and shoot pictures at the same time but I think the concept comes across.

It is imperative that coaches get in on the action. (Kind of looks like Chris gave Gabe a push here...) |

The Comp Team continues to roll too. Here are some shots from the past couple of days:

I've been trying for an 'in the mirror' shot for some time. Finally got it on Friday. |

We definitely live in a community (and a country for that matter), where it is way easier to get around by car. This can be a challenge when you're a kid and don't have a car - that's why I love to see kids take matters into their own hands and figure out a way to ride their bike to practice or school or what have you. Mac's not the first, but he certainly embodies the spirit of it!
